Here are the finished bases for our three homes. Notice the trenches around the outside to make sure the water running down the mountainside does not run through the house but around it.
Marta and I spoke via Facetime Thursday night. Everything is falling nicely into place. Francis will be at Santa Teresa de Jesus School on Monday afternoon when our wood arrives. He will ensure that the wood is unloaded and stacked properly. He will keep it covered with a tarp so the wood won't twist and bend on us.
Marta stated that all nonperishable food items have been purchased. She is excited for the team to arrive. Her son Roberto will be joining our group this year. He will be a great addition to our team. Since he is bilingual, he'll be valuable as an interpreter, when needed. He'll also be able to share information about the Honduran culture to help us in our "juntas."
The missioners are packing 72 bags of donated items this Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. Sunday evening I'll be sure to upload a photo of the filled bags so you can see the approximately 3,600 pounds of donated materials that we'll be carrying into Honduras! It will be impressive.
