And Then A Hero Comes Along..

Today, Gabe is the most popular person on the team, by far.  For those of you seasoned enough to remember, it was an episode of MacGyver as he made do with the tools we could find to restore water to the school. Our team shares the school grounds with the Populorum, who live here full time to pursue their studies.

The day was busy as the whole group was anxious to get to work after our travel day delays.

All 3 houses are framed and 1 ½ houses are sided! We are adjusting to small hiccups and pushing though.  We have also packed almost all of the donation bags which we hope to start delivering tomorrow.

I am proud to tell you what a great group of students we have this year. They have been working hard and looking for opportunities to help wherever they can. They are kind, compassionate to all those they meet and eager to interact with the children here.

Tonight we will enjoy a SHOWER, a delicious meal of beef tacos, and then meet for mass and junta.  Thank you all for your continued support, we hope to hear from some of you soon!

  3. Wow, looks like you all worked hard today, way to go team!!! Zayne, sad to report, USA lost in baseball 🥺 However your Celtics won! Tyler took care of your NBA league and kicked in Tatum for you. Quade made sure to send out your BeReal. and streaks. Ava says HI!!! Joss wanted me to call her out of school early because they had to run 800's at track tonight. I told her it was good for her. We miss you, but it looks like you are exactly where you need to be. Love you!!!

  4. Glad to hear the water is up and running again! Sounds like you have all been very busy! It is such a wonderful thing that you are all doing. Know of our prayers for each and every one of you. David, your sisters miss you ALOT! I don't like the "hole" in the house.
Madeline came home on Tues. for an appt with her midwife. she was not home very long but it was nice to see her. Chris's rabbit is still hanging around the outside of the cage, but the eagle has been in the area, so he doesn't go too far, stay tuned for that (hopefully not an ending to the rabbit!). It snowed here during the night. Not sure what it is about Thursdays and snow, but it was one of those really nice snows, it came gently almost straight down.
Sounds like Uncle Dave, Aunt Leslie, and Emmy are coming for a few days this weekend.
Going to go through some stuff I guess and pick up the truck.
I will have the girls send an email to you later today. I will let Tessah send you one during her snack break today. We miss you very much! I love you!

  5. Looks like you guys are doing great! Miss you lots Jenna! Tractor to school day went great except for when a car pulled out in front of me and I almost ran them over. JeriKay misses you too Justin and Jason say that it's debatable if they miss you. At least you got miss out on 3 more inches of snow. Keep working hard and being safe!

  6. 3 framed homes in 1 day, AMAZING!! Happy to hear the water is running, but I have to be honest to say that you got to experience part of everyday life of some Honduran people. I remember when the mission projects were water projects and students dug the trenches to put the piping in. The villages did not have running water and the mission teams brought them that luxury. Great to see the pictures. Something I will look forward to every night. Miyah - Marcus definitely misses your morning routine and I am sure Milo misses you too. I am just so proud of you and all the team members for sharing yourselves with those who are in need. Keep your heart open and let it this fill it even more!

  7. Hi David. This is Sarah. How are you doing? We are all doing well. It has been quiet, and I really don't like it. The weather looks nice where you are at. It snowed here last night. We threw snowballs at Dad when he got home from the farm. I about clocked him in the head, but he ducked just in time. We had fun! It looks like you got a little bit of sun. Your tattoo still looks good! How are your quick cold showers? I feel bad for you, we have warm showers.
I miss you and can't wait till your home.
    Love, Sarah
