That’s A Wrap!

Wow! We have completed the homes and are so happy with how they have turned out! Father Doug pointed out at junta tonight that we spent 5 days at the worksite.  They were long and difficult, but this amazing group of students and chaperones were determined! To have 3 houses completed in such a short amount is nothing short of amazing.

We spent the day finishing wiring, doors, painting, and filling the house with groceries for the families. As we type, another night of cards and games are being played in the library. The kids are also spending some more time outside playing with the school kids that are still hanging around.

Today was filled with lots of other excitement as well. The group experienced a prank with a fake bat in the library during lunch. Then during junta we were joined by a live scorpion and the biggest roach we have ever seen. Tomorrow will be another day packed with activities to make the most of it. We look forward to seeing you all soon!

  1. WOW, amazing work by an amazing group of people. I'm so proud of all your hard work and everything you have accomplished in a short period of time. It looks like you also get to enjoy a little fun as well. Just think of all the lives you have blessed and touched, they will forever be grateful. Just as I'm sure your lives will forever be changed as well, what an amazing experience to have. Zayne, it looks like you may be coming home with a friend, I can't wait to hear all about your time in Honduras.
It has been pretty quiet at home, I have been doing A LOT of laundry. I cooked supper two nights in a row too, of course Ava didn't eat any of it! Ava has been busy working as well, it's about time she makes some money;) She worked out with dad Monday night and came home and could barely function, got to love her! Joss still wants me to take her home after school daily so she doesn't have to run, she is so dramatic! They start softball spring league on Sunday, that should be COLD! It is supposed to rain Friday day and then snow at night:( Prom will be chilly on Saturday!!! So please bring back some of that warmth with you, we need it!!! Quade, is well, Quade and goes to the YMCA and then sits downstairs and plays Fortnite until his eyes are bloodshot, so the norm. Q and Joss have tried hard to help out your streaks and BeReal, but now they are arguing over who actually has to do it, as they are over it lol We can not wait to see you tomorrow night. Let me know if there is any food/drink you want us to bring, I'll have it in the van! Love you to the moon and back, see you in one sleep!

  2. Hey everyone,
I have really enjoyed watching from home! I cannot wait to see all of you to hear all about it! The houses look so beautiful! Beautiful work!
Today will be hard and so will tomorrow! I have looked through the bible trying to find a good quote for you all. As I was getting frustrated I walked away for a bit. Now you can believe me if you want but I walked past my table and knocked my bible on the floor. When I picked it up I started reading this page and found this verse. It is modified to understand better but here it is.
"Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for you feet; Stay on the safe path, Don't get sidetracked." -Proverbs 4: 25-27
This experience will stick with you and coming back home will make you realize things you never thought about. But as you start to do things in your everyday life, do not forget these experiences. Do not forget that little kid that touched your heart, do not forget the families that cried when they received a home, do not forget the hard work your team and you put in, and do not forget the love you have found for this trip, this team and the people of Honduras. But ultimately do not forget that God has done some amazing work through you and within you! "We love because he loved us first." I am beyond proud of you all and have an overwhelming feeling of love for this entire trip! Sending prayers for peace as you leave, for safe travels and that you all are proud of what you were able to do!
    Keep doing God's work,
    Love,
    Isabelle Schmit
