Meet Our 2018 Families

Deisy Avila is the mother for family #1. She and her family are living in a borrowed house at the moment. She has a total of 8 children, but only 3 are still living at home with her. She works at Santa Teresa School as a cook. The school pays her by giving her a little food and money.

They were all extremely excited to hear
they would be receiving a new home in March
from Gehlen Catholic Mission Honduras.

Family 2 is made up of 5 children, a father, and a mother.
Aleida Maria Betanco is the mother. The father
works as a watchman, as does their son. One of their daughters
is at college. Pictured above, you see Aleida and
the 3 children who live at home.

We will build home 3 for a single mother
named Adelina Mendoza. She works as a
cleaning lady and has 2 children.
Her brother owns this brick house
but allows Adelina and her 2 children
to live with him.

laundry hanging inside the house.
